Bonnie Brae Neighborhood of Denver
Bonnie Brae Neighborhood Information
The quaint neighborhood of Bonnie Brae was developed in the 1920's when George W. Olinger, a local developer, became inspired by a subdivision in Kansas City named Bonnie Brae, which means "pleasant hill" in Gaelic. Keeping with the subdivision's name, Olinger made every effort to recreate a Scottish Village in Denver similar to the one in Kansas City. He turned to landscape architect Saco DoBoer, who designed the system of winding streets unique to the typical grid system found in most of Denver's residential areas.
