DU Neighborhood Information

The Denver University, or DU, neighborhood lies west of the college itself, bordered by Downing, I-25, University and Dartmouth. Just to the north of DU, crossing over I-25, lies Washington Park, along with the Bonnie Brae and Corry Merrill neighborhoods.

DU Highlights

The DU neighborhood features an energetic atmosphere because of its location near the college campus. It is a popular area because of its location equidistant between the Denver Tech Center and Downtown Denver, allowing easy access for commuters to the I-25 corridor. Additionally, it features easy access to the light rail for those who prefer not to drive. Campus itself is a highlight of the area, with two major entertainment venues, college athletic events, most notably DU hockey, and the Newman Center for the performing arts with over 400 shows a year including concerts, operas, recitals, and dance performances, close by.

The DU area is full of ethnic eateries, and because of the many international students living in the area, an all together eclectic energy. From Middle Eastern and Chinese restaurants to Japanese and Italian, the options are endless.
