Jefferson Park Area of Denver

Jefferson Park Neighborhood Information

The Jefferson Park neighborhood is located directly west of Downtown Denver, no more than 5 minutes outside the city. The neighborhood is defined by the borders of Colfax Ave., I-25/the Platte River, Speer Blvd., and Federal Blvd. It gets its name from the centralized green space Jefferson Park, which was established in the late 1800's and named after Thomas Jefferson. In the late 70's and early 80's, the neighborhood was mostly abandoned as residents fled to the suburbs.

Jefferson Park Highlights

Over the past ten years, Jefferson Park has experienced significant revitalization in part due to its close proximity to the city and the popular expanding Highlands and Sloan's Lake areas. From Jefferson Park, residents are within walking distance to Invesco Field at Mile High, the Denver Downtown Aquarium, the Pepsi Center, and Six Flags Elitch Gardens. As the area continues to grow, more businesses have started popping up next to older restaurants and venues that were built to accommodate football fans at nearby Invesco Field at Mile High.

Jefferson Park Real Estate

A variety of styles are available in Jefferson Park, representing architecture from the 1890's through the 1950's, mixed in with some modern new development. Because many homes were built on smaller lots and much of Jefferson Park is multi-family housing, condos and town homes, density is heavier than some of the adjacent neighborhoods. Prices range from around $200,000 for smaller condos and lofts up to $600,000 for large historical brick homes. Community associations like JPUN (Jefferson Park United Neighbors) is a big reason why Jefferson Park is the neighborhood it is today and continues to grow.
